Well to be here again Very Happy
I want to introduce to you my classic German lenses. I don't have enough money to buy all interesting Zeiss and Meyer lenses, but step by step I increase my collection. I bought this equipment for rather good prices Smile From left to right:
- Meyer Optik-Görlitz Trioplan 2.8/100 (late 50's; 150 PLN ~38.20€ eq) 3 elements / 3 groups
- Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar T 5cm 1:3.5 (1949, bought in set with Praktica) 4 elements / 3 groups
- Carl Zeiss Jena "Olympia" Sonnar 1Q 2.8/180 (1960, 300 PLN ~77€ eq) 5 elements / 3 groups
- Carl Zeiss Jena Biotar T 5.8cm 1:2 (1950, 92 PLN ~23.45€ eq) 6 elements / 4 groups
- Meyer Optik-Görlitz Trioplan V 1:2.8/100 (mid 50's, 50 PLN ~12.75€ eq) 3 elements / 3 groups
- Meyer Optik-Görlitz Telemegor 5.5/400 (late 50's, 150 PLN ~38.20€ eq) 4 elements / 2 groups

The Telemegor seems to be very nice lens. How many iris blades does your Biotar T 5.8/2 have?

Thanks, colleagues!
no-X: Telemegor isn't easy to use (big and heavy) but great for body-building and wild nature shots. About Biotar - it has 17 blades (!).

Apart from the obvious iris, can someone comment on the differences between the 12 and 17-bladed CZJ Biotar 2/58?

I think that the optical design of these lenses is identical, but there are differences in finish. Biotar with 17 blades is an older version (produced until 1952). The tubus is small and made from chrome brass (some examples are black). Newer version has bigger, aluminium tubus.

Congrats for your beauties! I hope your collection will growing as well. I am big fun of Olympia Sonnar!

Thanks, Attila! I'm in love with Olympia too Smile Another lens is on its way to me - I'm waiting for the parcel containing this beauty (of course without the camera):

I paid over 100€ for this J-6 (in very good condition, SN 002606) with M39/M42 ring and yellow filter - so it will be my most expensive lens, but I'm very glad from this purchase!
