CZ Planar 85/1.4 is a tiny bit sharper than CZJ Biotar 75/1.5, but without a side by side comparison it may not be noticed. Planar is better on color balance, or easier to work with. Planar is consistently able to give nice results and great bokeh. Biotar bokeh is better but Planar is better than anything else including Helios, and both are sharper than Helios 40-2 85/1.5.

Planar Contax was an easy conversion to Sigma.

Scratches don't matter for a lens that is to be used, not admired. Gouges maybe, not those little lines though. They're like bubbles in biotar, no problem.

I guess Biotar sharpness is depend from copy variants all are extra sharp, but some of them even more.
