As a result of staying up late to watch Olympic highlights, I luckily checked my email alert service from AuroraWatch.ca and was delighted to see an alert for a major event. It's rare to get overhead aurora level with Calgary, but this was a perfect night: nearly clear skies and (initially) no wind. There was a nearly full moon however, which I kept behind me as much as possible, but it's possibly taken the edge of the saturation. All shots were taken on a Canon 5Dii, in RAW mode with white balance set at K=5200. Some say it should be set at Daylight, which I'll try next time.
Individual lens and settings as indicated.
Feedback very welcome/sought - any other aurora photographers here?
