Hi guys, I recently set up a mushrooming forum where you can share your experience, post photos, discuss, and so on. I thought maybe some of you would be interested in joining and making it spring to life some more.

Here's the link: http://mushroompicker.com

(Note: Attila allowed me to post this here.)

Thank you for that i have bookmarked it, looks very nice site, but i think i would still be nervous picking mushrooms as i would make a mistake and eat some magic ones, or poisonous ones.

Pick only what you know for sure, if you are sure that is just same case than different type of apples. I did learn this from my father in my childhood we never had any trouble. My brother was 'smarter' he did study books and he did pickup some not common ones. Result ? He was one week in bathroom under his 'honeymoon' Laughing Laughing Laughing

Laughing yes, that's what most people do, they pick the common ones that they are familiar with and which are good for cooking and difficult to mistake. The trouble comes when people eat mushrooms they're not familiar with and for which they don't get a positive id.

Same I learned from my grandfather and never anything happened! Another rule: never destroy any mushroom you don't know, leave it in peace!
