I doubt that church is 7.5 km away.
You're on the shore and you can see the church base wall.
I'd say under 5 km easily.

I have the same lens. It's incredible, although it's not particularly sharp.

I use an Olympus E-M1X, so there's a 2x crop factor, plus I aim to add a 3x teleconverter so I can get 3300mm (6600mm in M43 terms)

Before I got the 1000a, I made a panorama with the smaller MTO 500A to which I added a 2x teleconverter which you can see here https://www.flickr.com/photos/202287541@N08/54306677927/in/dateposted-public/

The pic is way too large for this site, hence the link. If you zoom in to the bridge to the top middle right of the pic you can almost see some writing on the right hand column....the bridge is 10km away.

Nice pic btw....I think people think everything is closer because that lens compresses images to such an extent that proper perspective just disappears.

Yes, strong compression is a feature of these telephoto lenses. But of course your 6600mm is already a lot)
You've got a very interesting photo.
You gave me the idea to take a photo of my city just like you.
