This is the best of the 6x9 folders. The rangefinder is coupled and the lens is top of the range. I have seen these go for twice as much as this BIN price.

Looks like the older version. I think the 'newer' ones command the higher prices.

Xpres is right indeed, this is the older Bessa E (also called Bessa RF in English speaking countries), which is less expensive than the highly coveted Bessa II. The only differences between the two models are:
- The Bessa E has a coupled rangefinder but the viewfinder window is separate from the rangefinder, whereas the rangefinder is combined on the Bessa II with a patch located right in the middle of the viewfinder. As a consequence, the view finder of the Bessa E is much brighter because there is no half-silvered mirror in the light path.
- The Bessa II Color Heliar lens is coated, while the Bessa E Heliar lens is not.
- Most Bessa E have a hinged yellow filter in front of the lens; the Bessa II doesn't.
- The Bessa II has a double exposure prevention mechanism; the Bessa E doesn't.
- The Bessa E with a Heliar lens usually goes for $150-300, while the Bessa II with a Color Heliar goes for 3-4 times as much. $400 is too much money for a Bessa E in my opinion, but the camera has already been bought anyway...
- Last but not least: IMHO, the Bessa E has a more stylish design with its sleek looking, black lacquered top cover.

As you might have guessed, I prefer the Bessa RF. I have two copies of this camera, which I use a lot, especially when traveling, as it is much smaller than my big Fuji 6x9. The huge 6x9 negatives or slides taken with the Heliar lens have never disappointed me.

Cheers!

Abbazz

Embarassed Thanks guys. I saw the Heliar and assumed this was the primo model. Nice cam in great shape anyway. I'm sure the new owner will be happy. Glad someone here did not trigger it based on my mistake. Or maybe someone did Embarassed

Now how about the price on this one:

Note the photo with the front element removed. Guess you won't be getting a collimated unit for your big bucks...

Maybe I'm half asleep at this hour but I just noted the yellow filter push-up removed. Still the price seems a little tiny bit on the expensive side Laughing
