hi guys

does anyone know if this lens can work on mirrorless cameras without damaging the sensor with its protruding backside?
thanks!

The sensor should be fine, it's the shutter that could be damaged if it sits too close.
I took some measurements using a digital caliper from this picture I found http://minolta-database.com/html/lens/R/R_21_4/R_21_4_1_length.jpg
at http://minolta-database.com/html/lens/R/R_21_4/R_21_4_en.htm
and some measurments from an MC lens I have, and did some number crunching.
I came up with 35.3mm from the mount to the rear most part, and used the caliper again to check the distance from the mount of my MD/MC adapter to the metal trim just in front of the shutter, and it's near identical, caution is advised if you wish to attempt it.
I would work my way slowly from MFD towards infinity and test fire the shutter, maybe use a demo NEX in a store. Wink

I was thinking the same thing with Canon's FL 19
