I've been playing around with my Minolta MD 50 f2. I'm using a glassless adapter so it's now a macro lens. Laughing
I will post more pictures over the next several days as time for shooting allows. Shot is wide open. Lens is mounted to my 10D.No pp just resized.

NICE! With a little Unsharp Mask or other sharpening tool, I'm betting
this image REALLY stands out. Pretty darn good for an image with no
post-processing. That lens has to be right "up there" with the best
50mm lenses, even though a LOT of 50mm lenses are very good.

Thanks. Smile
This lens performs better then I expected it to. Kinda suprised me in a good way.
It was one of my bargain lenses. Near mint condition and won it for USD $2.24. Very Happy

Are you serious? $2.24? Shocked Wow, what PROFESSIONAL results
for a lens under $3!
You must be extremely happy with this lens, especially at that cost!

One thing that strikes me is the way the color blending and gradients from
white to red to magenta is so very smooth.

Just think: if all you had was the camera body and this lens, you could
create many professional images. Sometimes I like to go out with just
one lens and try to come up with various possibilities.

I look forward to more images from this obviously fine lens.

The more modest Minolta lenses such as the "plain MD" 50/2, or its earlier 45/2, are great performers; when I do not need the extra speed - in other words, most of the time - I actually favour the 50/2 over its "higher end" siblings. They work very nicely on my XD's and SR's, of course with the exception for the earliest SR models prior to the Type V unified chassis, where the MD lug hits the name plate.

This next shot is at f4 handheld and no pp. Had a little breeze when I shot this one. Then my camera died. Shocked Just a dead battery. Smile
Taught me a lesson tho. Order a backup battery. Shot would of been better and sharper if I could of just had one more shot before the batttery died. Sad
