The origin of this thread is here: http://forum.mflenses.com/mflenses-helsinki-finland-autumn-winter-meet-t61874.html
We are planning a Spring meeting for the Finnish and Estonian members of MFlenses. We had a pretty good Spring meeting last year between Finnish members at Helsinki http://forum.mflenses.com/mflenses-helsinki-18-5-spring-party-kevaetjuhla-vrjippo-t57582.html. So we are hoping to have an even better meeting this year with more members joining us.
We had a pretty good planning meeting to discuss the logistics. Thanks Markku (Gurdie) for picking a nice beer bar! Here's what has been discussed.
1. Turku and Tallinn were proposed as two possible meeting places.
2. The group decided on the following ground that Tallinn may be a better venue: historical nice old town, cheap beer, and possibly convenient by ferry!
3. The 3rd weekend of May - leaving Friday (16th) staying overnight and coming back on Saturday night is the current proposal for the programme. The idea is to find a nice hotel in the old city and stay there.
All mflenes members are welcome! All Finnish and Estonian members are welcome to propose alternatives/improvements to the plan. _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/58547200@N00/ |

Markku, I will prefer the Friday-Saturday option. But also open for the other one. I will ask tomorrow a colleague (from Estonia) at work about the hotel options. _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/58547200@N00/ |

My apologies for this my very late incoming to this conversation. Thanks Dave for starting this spring mfl-spring meet thread. Of course also coming to Tallinn and also hoping that many of you others also joining with us there.
My vote for fri-sat. Also other day variations are suitable for me too.
My vote also for some smaller hotel at the old town area for our stay at Tallinn (bigger hotels are usually just so boring similar everywhere and..)
Hope to see and meet many you mfl friends at Tallinn at may. _________________ 500px l ¿ .. ? l Jalbum |

Thanks Hemmo. I found Kreutzwald hotel http://www.kreutzwaldhotel.com/ in old city and at reasonable price (around €75 per night per room). There are also cheaper options but this is 4* and with good reviews. _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/58547200@N00/ |

I've done some recon work on my recent trip to Tallinn. It is indeed a fantastic place for our summer meet. You can find the results here. http://forum.mflenses.com/canon-35-2-fd-goes-to-tallinn-t65894.html. There is excellent beer, food and architecture!
But there is a slight issue. I can't make those dates any more. I have to go to San Francisco for work. But everyone else can continue as planned. If rearranging, I can make the previous weekend (9-10) or sometime in June. Let me know what you think. _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/58547200@N00/ |

My vote for the first weekend at June 6.6. - 8.6.

Well, of course also open to all other dates

Being a local, I don't have any firsthand experience with hotels in Tallinn, but this one
has a nice homepage (which somehow tries to redirect me to online drugstores), but the location is not the best - it's very close to the main railway station and the area is likely to have more drunks etc around than most of the city. On the other hand, it is close to the Old Town and very close to the railway station market, where you will find Soviet lenses/cameras, although the condition/prices might not be all that nice. |

Great! Looking forward to meet you at your beautiful Tallinn at june.
So far seems that 6.6. - 8.6. weekend is ok. Excellent!
Every day is great for pinhole photography, but especially last weekend because this years Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day at 27.4.2014 http://www.pinholeday.org/
=>
My contribution for that day from Tallinn old town was this one: http://www.pinholeday.org/gallery/2014/index.php?id=890&Country=Finland
Some other last weekend pinholes from the Tallinn railway station area.
All these pinholes and Yashica Mat pics are with Fomapan 100 and stand developed with R09 1:200 / 2h.
(these and some my other pinhole samples from here and there you can look at here: http://jalbum.net/fi/browse/user/album/1351108)
and some Yashica Mat 124 versions from the same railway station area

I have this leg trouble, I think it is gone by 6.6. but can't be sure.
Boats don't need reservations?
What's the price tag of these rooms you been discussing? I hope to do the whole trip preferably under 200€. _________________ MF: Kodak DCS SLR/c; Samsung NX10; OM-10; Canon T50
