Let me begin by saying there is nothing clinical about these test. I tried to get the same focus point. I tried (and failed) to get the same angle. I took 1 picture, swapped lenses, and took 1 picture. Take from it what you will but please don't lecture me on testing procedure. This is all just in good fun. Both wide open @f2, Sony a850 @200, ISO 2000.
My opinion: "real world" sharpness is similar @f2. Takumar's highlights appear stronger: more pronounced ring (could have to do with angle). Mir's bokeh, by contrast, looks a bit smoother. Takumar is warmer: yellowing has been corrected to around ~90% clear. Remaining yellowing will still show some cast, even with auto WB. Both have a good dimensional quality.
