Beautiful winter's day here at home.
A delightful walk along one of our nearby beaches.

Thanks everyone for the kind words.
Winters here are cool-ish nights and usually temperate days - temperature range around 5-20 degrees C.
I know that sounds like summer to some of you haha.
Here are a few more from the walk yesterday. It was a really lovely day.

Really impressive shooting. I laughed out loud at the sea gulls forming an orderly queue to be fed! Laughing

haha, they are probably English seagulls then........................
Actually, the lady had a phone and I am guessing that she was attempting to get their photo before posting it on social media.
They were very well behaved for her anyway.
Thanks

how does the lens fare in comparison to the pentax 50mm f1.4 lenses?

That is an interesting question and would be fun to do.
I haven't done a comparison, but immediately there is one advantage to the Pentax in that it has auto aperture for green button metering while focusing wide open.
The Mamiya is done via the manual/auto switch.
I suspect that the Pentax may be a little sharper wide open, but will have to test to see if that is a valid suspicion.
Bokeh and rendering wise .......hmmmmm I think I would favour the Mamiya but again I haven't done any side by side comparisons.
I can see a little comparison project starting to develop in my mind but it may have to wait until I have a little more time.
Really, I don't think it matters what lens you have, when you get to know it you will learn to use it to its strengths and not point it at occasions where it does not give its best. - Well, I do anyway ..............
OH

PS - I forgot to mention that the results may differ according to the lens/camera combinations as well.
If I do a comparison of some lenses on my K-10D, then the results would likely be similar on another K-10D.
For those same lenses on a different camera with different sensor etc etc - not the same I am thinking ........

I have to say that I wasn't impressed by my MAMIYA-SEKOR (capital letters) 55mm f1.4 silver-black one... however was beautifully made.... Sad
your version seems sharper to me...maybe it's just a photographer behind the camera.... Embarassed

Thank you Radissimo.
I have no problems with sharpness for this lens.
Even wide open it is quite acceptable.
Here are some more samples.

I too have found it to be very sharp from wide open. However, I do remember missing focus quite a bit before I got the NEX. Here are some wide open...
