This was my first roll with my new old Mamiya RB Pro-S and the 140/4.5 macro lens. I bought a #2 extension tube for cheaps on ebay. This was just a test to see how we feel about each other.

I am very happy with it's sharpness.

Wide open, with tube, hand held.

Wide open. Does well with flare-y scenes. These were shot with the standard rubber hood but I found a compendium hood at my local camera joint which I'll use next time.

Again, wide open. The sharpest lenses that I own (when wide open) are all macros.

Not wide open, I think this was at 5.6 or f/8. Love the color rendering.
Handheld using the angle grip.
I don't have a strap for her yet but want one.

With the No. 2 tube, bellows fully extended. Camera on the ground.

Tripod, No. 2 tube, mirror lock-up.

100% crop of above.

The RB and I are getting used to each other.
I like her, but I still feel that I only need a square and that, for what I do, I don't need so much real estate. I could be naughty and just crop square but it seems so dirty.

Returned the 6x8 back. Long story short: didn't work well and they don't truly do 6x8 but 6x7.6.
I'm using a 6x7 220 back now, but these were shot with the 6x8 back.

Great results with the new gear and Astia. That last flower pic is stunning!

Yes, I would say you are "getting along" with her, all decked out with
the 140/4.5 Macro!

Color rendition looks wonderful (or as wonderful as it can look on a
monitor, of course)! It's obvious you are incorporating this fine lens
into your work structure with ease.

Your depth of field control is obviously pretty darn good, Mark. These
shots are representative of a fine photographer using a fine system.

NICE! And I appreciate the posting of these examples. This allows all
of us to see what can result from this particular equipment.

Attila, thanks very much! Still getting used to her.

Katastrofo, thanks!

Larry, thanks for your wonderfully kind comments! I'm adjusting from using what now seems like my "ultra-light" Rolleiflex SL-66. Spent four hours walking around with the RB today- pooped! I feel like I did a bit better today. Film to be developed next week.

The dof and backlighting on that elephant shot are perfect, really brings life into the sculpture.

Pirate, thanks! The sculpture is less than three inches tall. Tiny elephant!
