All directly out of the RAW SPP program. Converted to jpg, and some cropping, nothing else done.

As always, if I was to really spiff up the images, I might try a little Unsharp Mask - but then again, I'm not sure.

All:
SD-14
Super Takumar 100/4 Macro M42

Double

Late Bloomer

Horizontal Reach

Theler Tulip
If I was to "process" this image, I would probably cut down the reds. The
Foveon seems to "absorb" red colors! Shocked

Larry, they're absolutely beautiful. How lucky are we at this time of year to have flowers exploding outwards all around us.

This weekend I am going to try to get at least one flower photo that I want to print. And one landscape. Rolling Eyes

Love the first one, it has a nice depth to it and the composition I think is the best.

Yes, I liked the first one best for composition too. Thank you very much for your comments.

Larry,
Excellent shot of the Magnolia, do you know which variant it is?. I have both evergreen & deciduous Magnolias in my backyard. My deciduous however blooms before any leaves appear unlike the one you shot.

Hello Scott. This is a variant of the Saucer Magnolia. Normally, the Saucer Magnolia shows blooms before leaves, but this one was crossed with a subspecies, and the leaves and blooms almost coincide. I particularly like the deep pinks and velvet whites of the blooms.

Graham, thank you! Yeah....time to get out there and find a scene that is worthy of your print! I'm betting that you will!

I glad you like them, Jes! they just sit there and pose, so a guy HAS to take at least a few images of them, right? Wink

Hi,
careful composition, nice subjects. I like'em. If I had to pick one it would be the tulip, great lighting. I'd rather not touch the sharpening, the focus looks right to me and too much might alter the natural delicacy of the flowers.
Marty.

Wow, Marty, GREAT call on that one! I actually DID try some judicial sharpening just to see what it would do.

You hit the nail on the head! As soon as I sharpened a little, delicacy went out the window...they looked too "harsh" or something like that. Good thinking on your part, you didn't even have to TRY it, to already know!
