These are much closer, utilising the true 1:1 nature of the Panagor 90mm macro.

Very fine - I believe this lens is a forerunner of the famous Kiron 90 macro

That would make sense Patrick. I think Kiron made the Panagor.

Could be. I remember that movie Wink

Wickedly sharp lens, Pete. The unknown is very alienesque, and that poppy looks positively diabolical.

I always thought that Poppy at the top resembled one of Elton Johns wigs

Hmm, I always thought, the Panagor Macro is the same as the Vivitar 90/2.8, which I own.

At least, mine seems to be made by Komine, looking at SN.

You can find some info on the Vivitar here:
http://homepage3.nifty.com/3rdpartylens-om/vivitar90macro.htm

Panagor, for comparison:
http://homepage3.nifty.com/3rdpartylens-om/panagor90-a.htm

Unfortunately, I can't read japanese :/

Here, you can read about the different Vivitar macros:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vivitar
"....Vivitar 90mm f/2.5 Macro M42 Mount (made by Komine)
Vivitar 90mm f/2.8 Macro M42 Mount and others (made by Komine)
Vivitar Series 1 90mm f/2.5 1:2 Macro, 1:1 achieved with dedicated extender, nicknamed the Bokina (made by Tokina)
Vivitar 100mm f/2.8 Macro (made by Kiron)..."

Vivitar Series 1 105mm f/2.5 macro (made by Kiron)

Regards
Hasan

PS: @ Fretless Pete
wonderful macros

Its entirely possible that Komine built the Panagor - i couldnt say myself, because i dont know.
There was a lot of cross breeding back in them days, and its possible that either factories were involved

I've had a Komine built Vivitar series 1 70-210, which was sheer magic
