I would like to add mamiya's M42 lenses and Yashica's Yashinons DX/DS lenses.

To be more specific, Mamiya 135mm f2.8 and Yashinon-DS 200mm lenses are 2 of the sharpest lenses I 've ever used.

I'm not familiar with the Pentacon 200/4, but I believe it to be an excellent lens.

The Takumar is also an excellent lens, and should certainly be capable of impressing even wide-open. There's very little difference between the 1.8/55 and 2/55 at any aperture - if you can get hold of the Super-Multi-Coated or later SMC version, it's a lens that's well-worth owning Wink

I never tried any Takumar lenses. I have Pentacon 200/4, 15 blades. Someone wants it to traded with Tak 55/2. He'll add about $30 to me as part of trading. I want to know is it worthy ? I saw picture taken with his lens (wide open) isn't impressive
Thanks

Pentacon/Orestor 2.8/100 for portraits. You will pay much, much more to get same quality from more respected brands.

For longer lenses in M42 I like the Pieskers. Beautifully made as well.

Piesker Tele-Picon 180/5.5
Piesker Picon 250/4.5 (only two elements and two groups)
Piesker Tele-Picon 400/4.5

Iy like what I am getting so far from my copy of the Meyer-Optik Oreston 50/1.8. It is much, much better than its $20 purchase price (which included a hanimex Praktica Super TL). It is better than my old Pentacon, for sure, and my former Helios.
I am shooting a roll of Arista Premium 400 black and white with it on my SP1000. Some serious samples late this week, perhaps. I can hear my Super Tak 55/2 whining in the drawer ... Rolling Eyes
