Is it true that the Flek produces bokeh like this?

There are various Flektogon configurations. I have a 1975 zebra version with a 5 blade iris and a 1955 aluminum tube version with a 12 blade iris. Both good lenses but the bokeh is nicer with the older lens.

Those shots were taken partially stopped down - of course wide open would produce circles. Few 35mm have round irises stopped down.

The Rokkor MD W 35 2.8 is a sharp across the frame on FF. I suppose that it draws no attention because it is common , "slow" and cheap.

If we continue this thread, we might come to a conclusion that the F2.8 primes from well known brands are good enough. Wink

Your second picture is the first generation of Minolta MC series, while the first refers to a later series. However. optical formula should be the same, as the two letters after "Rokkor" in the name indicate number of groups/elements (in this case, 6/Cool.

Later series usually have better coatings, but the first MC generation is my favourite for look/build quality.

Actually the second lens is MCII not MCI, and the first picture is MCX
http://minolta.eazypix.de/lenses/index.html The differences are easy to see, scroll to the bottom.
The optics are all the same, only updated coatings will be the main difference, other than the body obviously.

I recognise that picture…
The answer is definitely yes… at least for my copy of the lens (6 blade f2.4 version); stop down more or less and the shape goes away.
Perhaps someone else can confirm that their copy does the same?

The Topcor looks interesting, even if it's "slow" at 2.8. I actually prefer fast, but it's not mandatory.

If you want to shoot some landscapes with a FF camera, you should check carefuly that the lens you choose performs well in the corners on such a camera.
You could have some disappointments even stopped down.

Remember a 35mm on A6000 has different view on A7. The focus throw will be also critical if you will change the focus frequently.

I really liked my FD SSC 24/2.8 on my NEX-7, and for a wide angle, I liked my OM 21/3.5
