I've tried my K-6/P-6 MF ARSAT Apo IF MC 5,6/500mm together with the SCHNEIDER-Kreuznach 2x converter, and the KIEV MC 2x converter, adapted to my Canon 5DMkII, on an Berlebach wooden tripod. This set-up sounds fairly crazy, but it works! Shooting distance from my apartment window to the Petersberg Hotel, at the Petersberg/Siebengebirge are exact 5,2 Km! The weather coditions were not very clear as most of the time, and over the Rhine River, there is always some disturbing humitity going up into the air. Since there is not automatic f/stop functions between the lens combo and the camera, it is stunning, that the camera display showing still a bright picture, even on stopped down f/stop for fairly exact focusing. With the LiveView function, the mirror is in the mirror-up position, so there are no vibrations during the shutter release, and the wooden Berlebach is perfect for such critical shootings.
The image shows just half of the total Petersberg hotel complex! Indeed, not bad for such a long distance, under lousy weather conditions! |

Never seen or heard of this lens before, thanks for sharing.
Must both be high quality TCs as the image is surprisingly good, especially with the bad weather. _________________ I don't care who designed it, who made it or what country it comes from - I just enjoy using it! |

I would say the lens must be pretty good to produce images this good through two tele-converters. Those do sound like good quality TC -- Kiev MC & S-K. APO lens sounds pretty good too!
Which order were the TC attached? / does it matter? I'm thinking the Kiev TC attached to the lens would make the best image for the S-K TC, especial if Kiev is match for that lens. _________________ ☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮ like attracts like! ☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮

Very interesting lens!
I guess any decent astronomical ~3-5x 1,25" Barlow lens should imrove the quality over two stacked 2x teleconverters visibly.
You would need a P6-T2 and such an adapter http://www.teleskop-express.de/shop/product_info.php/language/en/info/p209_Reduzierung-von-T2-auf-1-25----aufgesetztes-T2-Gewinde---kurz.html to adapt them. _________________ I'm not a collector, I'm a tester

The P-6/K-6 telephoto lens combo is designed for the 6x6 medium format. With the Canon 5DMkII I am using the center of the combo only, which should perform the best quality. I am using this lens combo also successfully on my 6x6 and 4,5x6 cameras. |

With the LiveView function of the camera, and the adapted 45° MF prism finder on the 3" display, provides an very good and bright picture image for good focusing of the very tight focusing field. |
