Note to self...
Cons
- Generally poor corner performance, issue when printing large
- Stopping down the adapted lens wont cure inherent aberrations of the "Turbo"
Pros
- Wide is wide again
- Corner softness less of a problem for portraits and / or small prints
- Build quality appears quite good, "Turbo" is also thinner than a regular FD - NEX adapter |

That's exactly the impression I got by looking at many samples around. It seems a really nice tool for some (or most of, according to one's style and needs) situations.
In the posts above you put the lens turbo under some stress: landscapes with relatively fast ultra wides is probably the less favorable situation for it, but pics came out quite well.
Not a true substitute for a FF camera, but I see how it can be useful and fun for some. _________________ C&C and editing of my pics are always welcome

Looks ok, I wouldn't mind more shots with the 17 with and without the LT, I have an SSC version.
I've been tempted to buy a LT or SB for use with my SSC 24/1.4 Asph. but I think I'll wait till next year and see if a FF materializes and put the funds towards that. _________________ A Manual Focus Junky...

Thanks for sharing this, just proves that this Turbo thing is a waste of time, the bits of the frame you are gaining back through it's use are reduced in quality so much that you'd be better off without them. I'll stick to stitching multiple images when I want a wider view than my ultrawide lenses can provide on APS-C. _________________ I don't care who designed it, who made it or what country it comes from - I just enjoy using it! |

The Speedbooster seems to be of much higher optical quality than the Lens Turbo, and it should since its double the price,
And you really need to compare a FF sensor with these lenses against the focal reducers that have come out recently.
Here's lots of pics and discussion about the SB, there are some great samples that show it can be sharp all the way to the corner.

I'm just now reading through the thread, I was avoiding it so I wasn't tempted, but.... I think I may lose that battle.
I believe the SB was designed to work primarily with 28-135 lenses, but I'm sure there are others outside that range that will work just fine.
I'll post a link of any sharp wides on a SB when I come across them. _________________ A Manual Focus Junky...

The longest focal length I have in FD is 50mm. Will post some samples when I find the time. |

Sorry to bring this up but I just got this lens with the Lens Turbo 2 and you cannot turn it all the way to infinity focus mark. It stops a lot sooner and I have 3 copies of the LT2. Arent you experiencing the same thing? |

For some reason I cant see the images (requested page has been removed), but was this with the Lens Turbo II ? I have had very good results with the Minolta 24 - 35mm zoom and am currently trying to get it to work with 17mm f4 - except that the aperture pin is too long and I'm not sure how to safely shorten it. |
