Could anyone please advise me what this may be? The add says that it is a Russian copy and it has a price of $200USD. Is it worth the money and can it be adapted to work on a Nikon D3 (full manual everything). Does the serial "105870" on the flange and the number "691" underneath it mean anything? Thank you in anticipation, I would be grateful for any info. Cheers, Rob.

I think this is a russian fake lecia copy made from a FED 50mm F3.5. You can only use in as a macro lens in your D3.

the value is around 30 - 50 $ for these russian lenses and you can easily google for them also compared to the Leica´s
owning a D700, i see no reasonable use for this lens on this cam - i use it on my NEX ( getting infinity with a M39 adapter)
As Calvin wrote, you can only use it as macro on your Nikon ( and other DSLR´s), but this is not the precise machined tool to do macros, it is a lens to make "old style" street shots, something that will not work together with your D3
