I have somehow managed to justify myself, that having over 2000 dollars invested in a 50mm is ok, for the last few years. Now that my life situation has changed I am thinking of changing my Summilux E60 to a Summicron E55, so I could buy a 80mm Summilux and something else fun with the remaining money. What ya think?
I mean the E60 is, well orgasmic. It also balances out with my D700 very nicely. But so might be the 80mm, and heck, I could buy a 35mm or 28mm while I am at it. The difference in price is around 1500 dollars on ebay, or am I missing something? My E60 is boxed and in good condition, with Leica UVa and all.
Anyone been in a similar kind of situation?

M.b. switch to Voidtlaender Nokton SLII? Very nice lens. Or even Rokkor/OM or Nikon 50(55/5/1.2 prime? Almost the same money and great IQ. |

I was thinking of the OM 50mm f1.2, but I just missed one in Finland.
Then again, it might be smart to have the lenses from the same manufacturer. I leitaxed a 50mm Olympus macro for Nikon, and though its very nice, it has a different character than my Leica/Nikons. _________________ Finding connections around the world.

You can try SMC Takumar 50 1.4 it`s a "copy" of Summilux. You can also buy Zeiss Planar 50/1.4 or .Makro-Planar 50/2. For 80-100 i suggest Planar 85/1.4 or 100/2. _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/atheist_lenses/

If you don't need that extra stop, the 'cron offers a better value for sure.
You could sell your 'lux and buy a 'cron plus a Nikkor AI 1.4/50 (for the f/1.4) and a nice 80/85/90mm lens. _________________ Personal forum activity on pause every now and again (due to job obligations)!

Yeh. I already have the 85mm AIS, but was thinking of changing my whole line of primes to Leica R glass.
The 35mm f1.4 doesnt seem to be leitaxable to Nikon _________________ Finding connections around the world.
