Below a shot with Leica Elmarit-R 2.8/35mm (E55) and Nikon D700 taken during a late evening walk.

Beautiful.

Personally, I prefer more light in the sky, about 10-15min earlier, with dark blue. That should enhance the profile of the building.
Sparkling stars in dark blue sky is too much to ask. And I am no good at all in PP and HDR.

Thanks all for your friendly comments.

I prefer the blue hour too. But in this particular image the floodlights will be only on if it is more darken outside. Sparkling star you will see here with your eyes but with the sensor it's unfortunately almost impossible due to the lights of the great towns around. And yes, I needed some PP but it is no HDR.

I am not known the capability of d700/d800, but the nex5n has dynamic range level 5 which i found useful in some cases. Still the differences are too much in this scene. perhaps 2 photos on tripod and hdr in pp?

Up to your usual high standard Rolf. Very nice.

Sorry Rolf, but this one just doesn't do it for me. Nice composition but I'm not "feeling it" like I usually do from your work unfortunately.
I own two of the Elmarit 2.8/35, and neither of them impress me either for that matter.
Maybe I am partial because of that.

Laughing Laughing Laughing No problem.

I own also 2 of these 2.8/35, this one and the first version, which I have converted now for Pentax P/K. With the first version I was unhappy too, nothing special. I feel, the second is much better. Will look into my archive, perhaps I will find some "better" images.

I've always heard great things, and if anyone can prove it it's you. Both of mine are from the first version, so it's not a real surprise if I'm not too fond of one, the second is essentially the same.

That's more like it Smile

Hard to see a difference in resolution, but it renders very nicely.
