I have ensinor 24/2.8 macro and clubman 28/2.8, which I believe come from the same original maker. I really like the colours and character they render. The 28 can be had very cheap.
Sharpness: 28 is sharp and contrasty from wide open. 24 is soft at 2.8, but nice from one step down.
Tokina Rmc 24/2.8 is much sharper, especially for landscapes, but I much prefer the colours and character of the ensinor 24 any day. Plus, the ensinor has macro capabilities, which is a great great bonus. However, I dislike a bit the hexagonal highlights both in the ensinor and clubman stopped down. For bokeh, I prefer the tokina rmc.
As far as the clubman 28 is concerned, it is not exactly in appearance as the ensinor 24 I have, it lacks the macro scale marks on the barrel, and its only 1:5 as opposed to 1:4 in the ensinor 24. Yet, to add more doubts, I have seen a Super Paragon that looks exactly like the ensinor, and focuses down to 1:4. I wonder if they are the same lens or not. Focussing mark is an evenly symmetrical diamond on both ensinor 24 and clubman 28 (though different colour) , so this last one is not a cimko incarnation, supposedly. |
