This lens is M42 of course, and has something of a following, making it popular.
Petri's bayonet lenses are often overlooked because of their unique mount, and the fact that there are almost no adapters for it.
And yet, they, too are very good lenses - especially the 55mm trio of 2/55, 1.8/55 and 1.4/55
As far as I am aware, all the early M42, and the bayonet mount Petri CC lenses, were made by Kuribayashi themselves, and the later M42 mount (that followed the bayonet mount) were farmed out - possibly to Sigma.
My grand daughter looks lovely with any lens - of course I am biased
Here are a couple of her with the same lens.
I had trouble with the focus of the first one and probably the second, as I was shooting wide open, but you can see that the bokeh is wonderful.
