Wonderful images. Very strange artefacts to the right of picture #3 in the OOF areas in front of the focus plane. Very peculiar.
The Hexanon 300/6.3 is one of the very few Hexanon lenses that one can truly call rare. It was introduced in late 1973 and is the only Hexanon with fluorite element(s) in the optical formula. It was one of the first such lenses on the market (Canon already had a 300 fluorite at the time). I have only ever seen two on Ebay, and I know of only two people who have one (now three . They ain't cheap when they show up either. _________________

Most of us probably didn't have the chance to get their hands on one of these rare birds, let alone to test one thoroughly.
Some weeks ago - in a local auction and hidden among other Konica stuff including a Konica AR 2.8/21mm lens - there was a lens which I suspected to be the mystery Konica fluorite lens. I noticed that another collector friend already was bidding on the lot, and so I refrained from inflating the price . He got the set, and shortly I'll be able to compare the Konica AR 6.3/300mm Fluorite to some of my best "slow" 300mm lenses such as the Canon FL 5.6/300mm Fluorite, the Nikkor Ai 4.5/300mm ED (non-IF!), and the Mamyia Sekor C 5.6/300mm ULD.
Now my simple question: Should I include another lens and if so, which one?
