Both those C35 shots look good to me, with 35mm, distance shots are always going to be so-so compared to nearer ones. That's why I've bought a couple of 120 cams for landscape work, a 6x9 is a lot better for distance than 35mm.

Love both of these, Excal, well done! I now have 3 rolls of the 200, need to give it a test drive.

Thanks for sharing! Cool

Nice sample from the Orestor, Ian!

I haven't tried Superia but I really like Fujicolor 200, I try to buy up bulk lots of it cheap when I can so i always have plenty in stock.

Supermarket dev and scan of fujicolor 200 with Konica FT-1 and Hexanon 4/21:

Well of course bigger is usually better, but the C35 is not better than say Canon 28mm or Sigma 24mm II Wink

Canon 28mm FDN

Sigma superwide II 24mm

Beautiful catch, I've always wanted the Sigma Super Wide, but every time I see one on the
'bay, ends up being a bidding bloodbath.

Sadly there isn't really such a thing as a cheap 24mm. I had a Sigma, it was a good lens but I think the Tokina 2.8/24 is better and when you see it the price is in the same range as the Sigma. I sold my Tokina 24 (Hoya badged) when I got a Hexanon 2.8/24 as part of a job lot of Konica kit, that was a lucky find indeed, it's a great lens but rarely seen for sale.

Another good but fairly cheap 24mm is the Cimko made one that appears under various brands such as Ensinor and Clubman.

I'm thinking I want your Hex 21. Smile It's still a decent wide on the NEX, too.

But there is 28mm...I've made a cockup as I took the same shot also with a Canon 28mm and have edited the original pics Embarassed

Sorry Bill for drifting off in your thread, but it might be of interest to complete newbie lurkers and that is:- The C35 might not be ideal for landscape shots Wink

It's a great lens, not easy to find and not cheap, but I think worth every penny. Yes, still good on the NEX, I have used it quite a bit on that camera:

Good point, Excal (although I may fly too close to the flame and try a few landscapes). I think the C35 will make a good walkaround
street snapper.

Serene scene in the last, Ian!

Well I'm not really into street shooting and know sweet Fanny Adams about digital cameras, but would your Canon 10mp P&S be more useful or better?

For street shooting, a cheap secondhand M4/3 camera will be great, something like a Panasonic Lumix, stick a small Russian M39 lens on it and you have a really small package.

M4/3 is not so good for distance though.

You are getting VG shots with Fujicolor but you might find superia 200 asa better...I bought 100 rolls for £33 and it's all gone. Anyway I'm not saying superia 200 asa is the best film in the world, as I haven't tried them all, but it's very hard to beat for general purpose use:-

Another shot for greens, Fuji superia 200 asa 50mm Meyer zebra

I am looking for cheap Superia on ebay, it seems to fetch higher prices than fujicolor 200 but with patience and luck I should be able to find some at a nice price. Thanks for the tip, I like the saturated look it gives, I shoot a lot of nature subjects so seeing lovely rich greens like that is something that interests me.

Hehe, while I was typing that reply I won 3 rolls of Superia 200:

3x24 exp for 5 quid is not so cheap but worth it to try Superia I think.

If Fuji superia 200 or Reala has a weakness, then I would propose it would be for very deep red or maroon subjects...my rose shots are a disaster erm but I just can't admit it could be my fault. Wink

Thanks for the link, interesting! Smile The little Canon A490 would be OK in that venue, I just like film, more. Wink

Very nice photos from both of you!
