Very good shots and also thumbs up for Konica lenses on a film camera for lovely results....for my copies for sharpness:- the 50mm f1.8 and f1.7 and 40mm f1.8 are excellent, the 28mm f3.5 is very good and the 135 f3.5 is good to very good.

In my experience of 20 years using hexanons. I found that the better, in IQ terms, normal is the oldest AR 1,7/50 mm. In the summicron level. Prehaps something colder rendering for somebody. The newer lines (@ from 1978) are MC and more in the warm side.

IN the 135 hexanons line, the F/3,2 is the lens to look for.

All the oldest wide angles are prone to flare,

Rino

299?

I paid 189 for mine with the 16mm kit lens, camera shop in cardiff on ebay.

How much better than the EE 3.5/135 I have is the 3.2/135? Enough to justify me buying one?

Those pictures are stunning Stanley. I too was stunend by the quality of my Hexanons.

The 21mm Hexanon will be a whole level higher in IQ than the Vivitar. Vivitar is a godo lens, Hexanon a great one, I really want the 21mm Hexanon but out of my budget for now.

The price for 21mm f4 is now crazy... but I really want to get one.....

btw, hows the quality for the 28mm 3.5 between 7 elements and 5 elements?

MOre sharp, more cold than the newqer 3m5/135 and in the same rendering than the oldest 3,5/135. Better in the borders to me. It's a very cheap lens.

7 elements. More resolution power. Better IQ in corners. More coldest colors rendering. MOre prone to flare. Single coated.

5 elements. More contrast and vibrant colors, in the warm side. Less flare. Less resolution power and corner rendering.

I just picked up one of the older version of this lens with metal focussing grip for 26ukp, decided I needed one! God knows how many 28mms I have now, at least a dozen...

First- Look at the reflections colors of the coated. The newer has a lot of colors (green, blue, yellow) And the oldest has a brownish color.

Second- The newer 5 element has a 55mm diameter. The oldest has higher diameter.

Third-The 5 lement is shorter than the average 28 mm lenses
The 7 elemente is large as the average 28 mm leses are.
