Using the Ricohflex Dia L:

I don't know as I'm all that impressed with this film as far as color, maybe
it's better with spring and summer light.

Thanks, Attila, I can't really tell a big difference between VC and NC
Portra film, but I do like the low grain.

I never shoot yet on any Kodak films , this Portra looks more than excellent to me and scanning also !

After seeing Simon Kennedy's thread using the Leica M6 with the Heliar
12mm, I had to try Portra. He favors the NC, but both films seem to have
low grain.

Let me know his thread, I did miss that.

I'll see if I can find it. Another thing I like about 400 film, is it's pretty
forgiving when I'm using Sunny 16 for metering. I've really screwed the
pooch on some rolls of 100 and 200 film with Sunny 16... Laughing

Yes. I found Fuji S160 also superb film good as slides.

I have some Portra 160NC and 160VC to try as well. Here's the link:

Bill, I had just the same results with Kodak E100G slide film in spring last year. It seems to enhance blue light, especially in shadows. Maybe it's a Kodak trend, but I'm not impressed either. I'm still experimenting after 18 months to find a slide film I really like. As for negs, those Walgreen films you sent me gave very nice colour balance, better than this Portra I would say, pity I can't get it over here Sad. Please post more pics with the other films when you can.

Here's an E100G example

Did you try Fuji Sensia 200?

Kodak has always been known to be strong in the blues, great for blue skies and azure oceans, probably not so good for grey roads with cool blue shadows. Having the buildings back-lit doesn't help, either.

Attila, I've tried Sensia 100, and plan on trying 200 zand 400, but later
this spring.

Peter, great shot and glad you like the film! This film is made for Walgreens by Fuji, but it seems to be a different mix from theirs, I like
it better. I'll definitely post pics from the 160 stuff, it is all in 120 size.
