As you know, powering the Kodak 14n is problematic because it is hard to buy batteries. I decided to check if it is possible to power it with other batteries. I checked the Canon BP 511, using the battery compartment from the Canon G5, but unfortunately the camera starts up but ERR pops up on the LCD screen. The problem could be the old battery, I will check it with a new one or an original Canon.

However, the larger battery from the JVC BN-VF733 camera works without any problems. So I permanently soldered the cable to the battery and it is charged by a replacement charger - the original charger does not charge (the red diode flashes quickly to indicate an error.).

Of course, you don't need to have a replacement for the Kodak charger, any universal charger up to 7.4V will do (you can then solder the plug and easily charge the battery. Of course, you don't need this power adapter at all - just an old battery and solder the cable to +/- leading it outside the battery.

Interesting - this has been my project for 10 years but have not yet realized it. Smile

And this is what the "dedicated" charger for this converted JVC battery looks like Smile I have to check how many photos the camera will take with this set. And you still need to insulate or encase this "pocket" battery
