I acquired this lens recently. I had the Kiron 28mm f2.8 before which was very good. Then one day I decided to slim down my lens collection ... some days later, what happens? You guessed it ...
I had the chance to take some pictures when we finally got some sunshine (for about 5 minutes). The overall impression: Very well built, excellent center sharpness, borders are acceptable on a crop size sensor. The lens seems to be quite telecentric as well as I only get a bit of green color cast on the borders with the Sigma SD1 Merrill. Performance at f2 is actually usable (not pin sharp, but quite alright).
Here the links to the photos, all shot a f8.

A good and useful lens for crop sensor cameras indeed.
The construction isn't quite as robust as some; its certainly no Takumar or Nikkor.
There is usually a problem with sticky aperture blades but its not too difficult to fix.
