Nice article, I have this lens I was happy with it's performance.

For whatever reason, I was never satisfied with the excellent Kiron 28-85. I think they improved the image quality when they designed their 28-105 version. I've always chosen the Kiron 28-105 and Vivitar S-1 28-90 over the Kiron 28-85...

I hate varifocal lenses because you have to refocus everytime you change zoom setting.

I hear that quite often. I don't even notice it. It's such a small adjustment or change in focus.

I find it's one fluid movement. I have a few one touch zooms which although I don't use them a lot I still like the concept.
