This is my experience too, but some lenses really , really sharp at wide open and they are pretty fast , none of them wide angle lens. _________________ -------------------------------

I agree I just love that shot, I wish I had such a nice zoo near my home! _________________ Pentax K10D & K100D. Many Tamron Adaptall SP lenses, Fujinon f4.5 400mm. A loved Lens Baby 2, Lubitel triplet +++ and many film cameras. Mainly a Digital user inc G5, GR2
