Received this lens earlier this week. Testing this M39 version of Jupiter-9 on my G1. Weather is bad lately in Hong Kong. Heavy rain, cloudy sky, smog, etc., you name it! Welcome comments on its performance.

I too had the J-9 for a while and it was a great compact lens. Can be surprising sharp and contrasty with the right light and a long hood. You'll be punished for misfocusing though! _________________ My Gear and Other Ramblings :: http://filmlensaddict.blogspot.ca/ |

Yes, you are right. Long hood is absolutely necessary! |

NIce shots. Does the J-9 come in any other mounts? or just m39? m42 by any chance? or similar? I need a good 85mm... out of all my lenses I do not own ONE 85mm prime... it really is a neglected focal length. _________________ My Best Lenses (off the top of my head):

Thank you! I was walking along that tunnel and it just came to my mind that if I take someone walking against the background of the long wall, the subject should stood out. It turned out to be the case.
