I can buy these two lenses, but I only have these descriptions and pictures:

Lens 1 is saying 4/135 no 6327817 and the Russian inscription 'Zenith':

It looks like a Jupiter, but I'm not sure about it, is it M39 or M42? I'm not experienced enough...

Lens 2 is easier, saying Helios-44 2/58 no 0246571, which must be the metal look Helios:

But is it M39 or M42? I tried to find out via Google, but couldn't be sure. I'm trying to get a picture from the mount, though I wonder if you can see the difference between M39 and M42 from a picture.

And the 4/135 is definitely the Jupiter-11 for Zenit SLR, probably also M39 mount. Carsten has a picture of it on his website, mounted on a Spotmatic (near the bottom)

Thanks for your quick responses!
I tried to find out if using such M39 lenses with a simple M39->M42 on an original M42->K-mount adapter influences infinity focus, but I get rather puzzled by the many contradictory messages on the internet.
I might not be the first one to ask, but can't find posts on this beautiful website.

I uses my russian m39 SLR lenses with a simple m39->m42 adapter and I can reach infinity also using a further adapter for my digital Oly.

You have to better grease the m39-m42 adapter if you get a slim metal on like mine, and make sure you screw it until the end. It's not so easy and I took some minutes to figure it out.

Some (all ?) of the early Zenit M39 cameras used a lens registration distance of 45.2 mm. If an M39 lens designed for this distance is used (with an M39-M42 adapter ring) on an M42 camera (registration 45.5 mm) you will not achive infinity focus. So if the M42-K adapter is properly designed for infinity focus with an M42 lens it might not give infinity focus with an M39 lens (with M39-M42 adapter ring).

Edit. Paragraph deleted - I'm confusing myself so I shouldn't confuse others.

Jupiter 11A is black finish, and focus down to 1 m. It is a sharper lens, but a Jupiter 11 is already sharper than Elmarit 135/2.8 wide open. Smile
