Just got the lens off ebay, and it's noticeably soft on the left side when compared to the right. Is this common for the lens or is it a bad copy?

I've done a brick wall test but it's noticeable in real world photos too.

Top left vs Top right:

Whole photo:

P.S is there a way to upload full size photos?

Hard to tell.

Your photo doesn't seem to have been taken perpendicular to the wall. Notice how the bottom course of bricks appears parallel to the frame, but the top doesn't?

It is slightly off but I took multiple photos, even with focusing on the left side to make sure it wasn't offset. Another, slightly more level one below. It's the same with regards to the softness.

Or the adapter is not flat left-to-right?

Full size photos need to be uploaded elsewhere with link posted here.

I tested my 50mm with the same adapter and that's fine, so it's not an adapter issue. I would have preferred that be the case though.

Take a picture @ infinity, then it’s easier to see.

Does your lens have any play? if yes it could be the well known nFD bushes issue
