Is there any 28mm f2 that's sharp enough wide open

I respectfully disagree, I have lenses that ARE amazingly sharp wide open.

I do also, but these are usually 50s here. 28mm...well, the new Sony 28/2 isn't bad at all -
better than the Distagon 28/2.8 C/Y...but it's an AF lens, and i dislike the design.

No, not as sharp (or as contrasty) as at, say, f/8, and color fringing can be a problem at f/2, but not too shabby either.

[BTW, the first two were taken with a K-mount copy, while the third was taken with a Ka-mount copy.]
