I love the photos I see taken with the Zeiss 50mm f1.5 rangefinder lens. Even the Canon copy seems wonderful. Is there a version of lens made for SLR cameras? Or anything close? Thanks,

That looks like the one. The article you linked to said that the Takumar is the only Standard lens with a Sonnar design for SLRs. I'll have to learn about it. I wonder if it's hard to find and/or expensive. Thanks,

see it mentioned also on this page of the Taunusreiter site: http://www.taunusreiter.de/Cameras/Pentax_Takumar_e.html

there is also offers a link to photos taken with this lens:

but I am afraid it also says, quote:
'To my knowledge it is the only SLR Sonnar type standard lens. Probably the rarest of them (3.000-5.000)'

cheers,
Andreas

Geoff
For a lot less hassle and money you could have a CZO 1.5/50 and a Kiev or IIIa to shoot it on.
Don't look over the 2/50 either. It is actually better for general shooting.
Finding a reflex Sonnar is lke hens teeth.
