well the thing is that I have two mamiyas 135/2.8 and both of them are stuck, one at f2.8 the other at f4 and I must say that they perform beyond everything that I have used before, especially the f4 version... but that bothers me, having only one f-stop with each lens... So i'm looking for a similar performer with working "aperture" |

Most Mamiya M42 tele lenses were Tokinas.
You may want to look for an old Soligor or Vivitar, most of these early automatic lenses were also Tokinas of the same series as Mamiyas.
They should bve very cheap. _________________ I like Pentax DSLR's, Exaktas, M42 bodies of all kinds, strange and cheap Japanese lenses, and am dabbling in medium format/Speed Graphic work. |

@ NikonD I have a Pentacon 2.8/135 on ebay at the moment. I also have a Pentacon Auto 2.8/135 which I'm thinking of selling. Also a Jupiter 11A 4/135 - this is a keeper but I have several. All of these are M42 BUT the J11A is easily converted into a Nikon mount with infinity (no glass). There is a very nice set on ebay at the moment if you are a collector - J11A+case+strap+caps+hood. _________________ John |

I agree about the CZJ 3.5/135 and the Jupiter 37A. I think the optics of these two are identical. Also don't forget the Super-Takumar 3.5/135, which was developed when Asahi and Zeiss were working in co-operation and I think its optics are identical too. The later S-M-C version has the improved multi-coating. Some say the Super-Tak 2.5/135 is even better but I haven't tried it. _________________ Peter - Moderator |

This is an Enna Ennalyt 135mm lens , plastic body, which can be found under several brands (revue, panorama, porst, etc ... and Enna ) Optically fair good , but mechanically under the worst japanese production of the seventies ... I paid never over 6-7 € for my copies (2 for the "panorama" )

the front element on my J-37A is quite a bit larger than that on my CZJ Sonnar (black MC).
as for the 135/2.5, I have a Takumar-A in K bayonet (it's the low-budget version, not even the SMC Takumar) and stopped down to f/4 it actually seems a bit sharper than the German and Russian... but the bokeh doesn't look so good. |
