Good day.

I have inherited canon T70 and a ZENIT E SLR's with some lenses.
I do intend to eventually use them, since i discovered the
nice world of manual lenses and film photography.

Following lenses were included, does any of those lenses
stand out in one way or another ? (quality/badness/anecdotal)
I dont really care about the price, these lenses will never be sold.

None of these lenses are really fast, but they do seem sturdy and
one good quality.
(but in no way as sharp through the viewfinder as my nikon D40
kit lenses - am i missing something ?)

Angelo,

The Canons can be habit forming. Best to pack them carefully and send them to me before you become infected.

If the Vivitar 75-260 has metal zoom and focus grips it is a T4. If rubber, it is TX.

The Pentacon, Helios, and Tessar are pure junk, let me dispose of them for you as well Laughing

Of those I have -

Sigma XQ 200/3.5 - I have the slightly later version of this. Personally I think its not a good lens, it flares like crazy, but it does focus very close for a 200mm.

The Vivitar 75-260/4.5 isn't half bad, stop it down to f/8 or so.

The Helios has a great reputation as an "art" lens, and from what I have seen this rep is deserved. Use it wide-open to exploit the bokeh.

I don't have any of your lens.
Try shooting them and you will know if they are any good. Better still You can send them to me and I will tell you if they are any good. Rolling Eyes

Canon FD lenses are said to be very good. We don't talk about them a lot, because it's very difficult to adapt them to a mdoern DSLR.
That's also the reason why you won't get the money for them that they are worth.
So, better keep them and use them!

And perhaps a Micro-4/3 cam will enable you to shoot with them digitally one day...

As mentioned before

You can use the FD´s only with an adapter Fd>Eos but you will lose infinity. You have only 50 cm or something like this.

Or you use an adapter with an add. lens, then you have infinity but you lose a lot of quality. Best you use these lenses analog with your t70.

Here is a picture with Canon 5DMkII and FD 2.8/135 S.C.

Thanks for the great advise.
I will assume those lenses are alrightish.

Also thank you for clearing up the T4/TX thingy, it is a T4 (and damn
heavy). I was also very impressed by the focus distance of
SIGMA 200mm XQ f3.5, it can focus from quite close.

I will let you all know some feedback from the lenses once my
M42-nikonF adaptor comes and when i develop shooted films
