Infrared images - first attempt

My first attempt at B&W infrared photography.
Photos taken with a Sony DSC-F717 fitted with Cokin 007 infrared and ND8 filters.

These are nice.
I started to try IR using an IR filter but was frustrated by the long exposures required. Judging by the clouds you aren't using particularly long exposures, may I ask what kind of duration.

Undeterred I like IR so much that I bought a dedicated converted Canon G5.

All three shots were taken at 1/60 sec.

They are nice, but: You only have to be careful not to overexpose the foliage. In your last shot, the meadow is just an almost white patch and often the highlights are clipped in trees and bushes.

very nice Ed - in number 2 would that be a Castlewellan "white"?

sorry for those outside of Northern Ireland that was a play on the fact that there is a very popular fir tree that grows well here and it is called Castlewellan Gold, Castlewellan being a smallish town close to the County Down coast
