HI!

I've bought MC ROKKOR-PF 58mm 1:1.4 recently for a few bucks and looking forward what to do with it. I got canon 30d, so it'd be nice portrait lens. But i shold convert it to eos first.

Well, there's some ideas on it:

First, is quite simple. Get the mc to eos conversion kit from here. But AFAIK it's quite pricey(more then 50$) especially, when compared to lens price.
Second idea is to cenvert it by myself. What i need to get to do this. I got broken Tokina, so i can take EOS mount from it. And i can buy m42(or whatever) to EOS mount, and try with it. That'd be way cheaper.

What'd be your ideas?

Thanks in advance for your response.

BTW, can anyone show mc 58/1.4 photos from aps-c camears?

One more question: If i can use this lens on Sony alfa cameras? Do i need any adapters?

Hi, i've converted before MD mount glass to m42, but on third party glass. You should check if it hits the mirror or not.

AFAIK, it hits on 5D. Since i got aps-c camera, it doesn't hit. What did you do to convert it? and what was the lens?

My shameless self promotions:

But you can change the camera mount, so you do not have to convert the lenses.
This is much easier and completely reversible since you are using APS-C sensor camera.

Well, that is the only camera i have. So i won't change the camera mount anyway. Try to change a lens mount when i recieve it.

well, guys, i'm almost done the conversion. just got to slice a cpacing ring. i'm doing it with a sand paper. I got a questiion:
what would if i slice a bit more then needed? i'd be able rotate the focus ring next to infinity, but what would be with my minimum focusing distance?

i.e shoud i be very very precise, while slicing the spacer?

If I understand well your inaccuracy will have more troubles with infinity than with closest focus. It means that close focus will not be much better with some half or one milimetre. Infinity is more vulnerable in meanings of precision. In the end focusing is at logarithmical scale as you can see on focusing ring of every lens. More to infinity more distance it pass.
Hope it wasn't much confusing =/
