Good feedback and well written auctions = higher prices I've got a lot more than expected for partially functioning lenses too...I reckon people would much rather bid on items where the faults are clearly described, so there's no nasty surprises. Still, that's an awful lot for a crap lens LOL _________________ Graham - Moderator

Innit!
I always make a profit on second hand lenses off ebay but it's this guys consistency that amazes me, I sold a Soligor 350mm for £100 that cost about £18 once and a few vivitar zooms for £40 ish but it's like every single lens this guy sells goes above the average, kudos where it's due, he's got the right recipe!
I bet this guy could just spend all week buying lenses on ebay and selling them for 3x profit let alone going out and looking for lenses.
I wonder if he makes his living from it? _________________ - Dave

If I list this lens on auction I guess maximum what I get 10 GBP even with samples photos, good reputation, description blah, blah my experience with auctions people want to take items cheap as possible, quality , good feedback etc just come after... So I not list anymore on auction or very rare I think. Self bidding can help a lot if a new comer start to bid too... I believe those sellers who are always get record prices on their auction hold 3-4 accounts and make cross bidding on them. _________________ -------------------------------

Not always true Attila. I've sold incredibly common lenses (like the Kiron-make Vivitar 2.5/28mm) for waaaay more than is typical. I think one went for $86. But I've seen them sometimes be on a BIN price of $19.99 for an entire week without much interest at all. I certainly don't cross-bid across accounts. I don't even have more than the one. It really has to do with presentation. |

True. But does the average Joe know that? Probably not.
Alot of people don't read the full listings. They see the words Fits Canon EOS in the header or at the beginng of the listing, and think because it fits a Canon EOS it must be a special lens. _________________
