Hey folks, been a while since I've posted pics.

(in my defence it's been a while since I did anything interesting to take photos of!)

Here's some flora found in Gros Morne National park, all shot with a Flektogon 35/2.8. It's not a true macro lens of course but is very portable.

1) These blue flag irises are everywhere.

2) Lady slipper, common in the boggy areas.

3) Pitcher plant. They can survive in poor soil because they're insectivores. They're really common in the park, which tells you something about the growing conditions.

4) The bottom leaves are shaped to trap rainwater.

5) Tiny hairs on the leaves point down and make it hard for bugs to crawl back out. Eventually bugs get tired and drown, as they rot in the water the plant absorbs some of the nutrients. (this pic is almost a 1:1 crop)

I'll add landscape pics as I edit them, the park is amazingly beautiful.
