I discovered when I was on holiday last year that my Galaxy Tab 3 will not allow me to use a card reader (via the USB adapter). It seems like the only way to view pics on my camera is to plug the camera directly into the tablet. Thats ok, it works now. But the image viewer on my tab only shows one at a time, I want to be able to scroll through them like I do with pics on the micro sd card.
Can anyone recommend a good image viewer. Preferably free - ads don't bother me.
I can have the pics transfered to micro SD and put them into my tablet but thats messy and not always practical on the go.
Thanks in advance for any help.

You could try another card-reader if yours don't work.
For apps, you may try this one.

Its not the card reader I've tried every one I can lay my my hands on. The tablet simply will not work with one. I'll check out the app. Thanks. _________________ Hero in the 'messin-with-cameras-for-the-hell-of-it department'. Official. |

May I ask if your Galaxy Tab 3 is 7" version which does not support USB OTG? The tablet need to support USB OTG and a OTG cable is needed for a card reader. _________________ https://www.instagram.com/_lens_fever/

My galaxy tab 2 will not work with a card reader alone because the USB socket does not provide power to the card reader.
I use a little battery pack connected to the card reader and it works perfectly. |

I will just clarify my question again and explain because most of the answers do not actually address the question.
Can anyone recommend a good image viewing software for my Galaxy Tab 3 10 inch? With the software bundled with my tablet it I must view each photo separately, I can't scroll through them. I want a viewer that will do just that. The descriptions in the play store are vague.
My tablet does not support OTG. Every dealer and other user has told me this. Fine - thats why I can't use a card reader. I dont want to take my photos on a micro SD card and keep having to transfer it to my tablet. The card socket on the Samsung is fiddly and I need to use a toothpick to poke the card down far enough. So I aint doing that. Once the card stuck between the card socket and the case.
I can plug my camera into the tablet and read the photos just fine.
I'm not interested in transferring the photos before looking at them.
The Samsungs have a rubbish connectivity. I had a no-name tab previously that had USB, Mini USB, HDMI, full size SD/Sony reader and Mic input. Beautiful but it was slow. _________________ Hero in the 'messin-with-cameras-for-the-hell-of-it department'. Official. |

I have both a galaxy phone (S3) and a galaxy tab s 10 inch. I use DSLR controller. My camera is a Canon EOS 60D. Not sure if it will operate your camera or not but I really like it.

It allows you to actually view the images on the device as you are taking them. You can also view them out of the camera on the device without transfer. It requires a female to female USB cable but the software is quite nice you can do time lapse and other fun things with it and it will control all camera functions except focus. It does use the battery on the camera up quickly unless you turn it on and off, the camera timeout is disabled when connected to the device. _________________ photos are moments frozen in time |

Doesn't answer my question but thanks for the heads up. This may be useful.

Don't know if this will help you, but i have a Kingston Mobilelite, there is some software for it in play store, it is a Battery powered USB Card reader with Wifi
So here is how it works.
Pop SD card in turn device on, you can join to your home network, fire up the app, and you can browse to it and get pics of it, if it is not on home network, then you can join the Access point it creates and browse the images, and download,

This was my version there is a newer version
it can also charge your mobile with attached usb port it has a built in battery that can transfer to phone,
Actually try the software as you can view offline files so direct from phone with browser
