Hi folks
I have a 24mm Exakta lens in Fuji FX bayonet mount, I want to convert it for use on my EOS.
I'm not sure what the flange focal distance should be, Camerapedia says 43.5mm but others say it's the same as M42.
Which is correct? If it is the same as M42, conversion will be very easy, can just stick a modified M42-EOS adapter on the back, if it's 43.5 it will be rather more tricky. _________________ I don't care who designed it, who made it or what country it comes from - I just enjoy using it! |

I think he means it's an Exakta brand lens with a Fuji mount.
I'm pretty certain it is shorter than M42, 43.5 is likely correct. |

Yes, it's a Japanese made Exakta branded 2.8/24mm.
43.5, oh well, not worth hacking it up then, the design of this lens means it's not really possible to convert, it would require major surgery and I doubt it can actually be done due to the way it's designed.
I got it for almost nothing and have no idea of the IQ, it's not worth me spending several times what the lens cost to buy a fuji-NEX adapter (if such a thing even exists!) as I suspect it's not a very good lens.
Anyone use Fuji FX mount SLRs and wants a 24mm lens? You can have it for the postage cost! _________________ I don't care who designed it, who made it or what country it comes from - I just enjoy using it! |

Hi Ian,
I would like to try it. I made a Fujica-X adapter for my Oly E3 during the cheap lens challenge, so I can use it on 4/3 and m4/3. This would be the widest MF lens I have tried, so it would be an interesting test.
PM me with cost and how you would like paying.
Cheers

No problem Mark, you should be able to use it no problem. I lost the ball bearing for the aperture stop clcks when I had it apart but it still works fine, just it doesn't click as it rotates. I suspect this is a Cimko made lens as it has a diamond on it.
PM me your address and I'll get it posted to you, should only be a couple of quid. _________________ I don't care who designed it, who made it or what country it comes from - I just enjoy using it! |
