Pros: Sharp, Lighweight. Great contrast in monochrome.
Cons: magenta CA on provocation
Sharpness: 9 Aberrations: 7 Bokeh: 7 Handling: 10 Value: 10

Price paid 15 NZD

Lightweight easy to handle Fujinon screw mount lens (I understand that this comes in other mounts too). The photographs below are shot at f8. At f4.5 is a little soft - really not bad and quite usable. Sharpens by f5.6 and very sharp thereafter. This lens equals in sharpness my Sony 70-400 G at 200mm at f8 and up (!! yes really!!). Bokeh is quite pleasant considering this is a 6 blade iris. Colours are very natural and pleasing.
Monochrome renditions of images of this lens are great with excellent tonal gradation (is this due to the Fuji coatings ?)
My main gripe is some mild lateral magenta CA at the edges on provocation. In most situations this is absent. My use is to be able to do telephoto shots without carrying round a tank (my Sony 70-400) all the time, and it serves that purpose very well.

First 3 pictures taken at at f8 or f11

Comparison with Fuji at f 5.6 and Sony G 70-400 at 200mm f5.6. Sony left half Fuji right half. Tree in focus on Fuji and house in focus on Sony

Well I've got the EBC T 200mm 4.5 and 135mm f3.5..... both for £6 Wink The fujinons are nice lenses but with my copies:- a Kiron 80-200mm f4 and Canon FD 200mm f4 were sharper than the Fujinon 200mm f4.5 @ 100yards.

I really like the second one, stark subjects like that always work well in mono imho.

Not much pop in these for a Fuji lens.

picked one of these up over the weekend and got a chance to get out and shoot with it today, and tend to agree with the review - it's as sharp as you want it to be, and the rendering is quite lovely - minimal PP on these shots (exposure and spot removal), most straight from the A7ii

#2 and #5 show especially well the capacity of the lens to render complex subjects. Great result, thank you for sharing.
