For near $2000 I would expect a product to have speed and accuracy, none of which are included in the envelope of this camera.

for the $6000 I invest in a D4, I can be sure that for three to four years I won't miss a single kiss, lean over or walk in the hallway unless I myself **** up the task.

I'm dearly sorry, but this type of cameras who promise more than they can deliver... sorry - they're not up for the task. Yet.

wow.. that´s twice the price of fuji x100 or secondhand leica M8 without lens Shocked and to be honest, if I were to choose secondhand leica which has true rangefinder or new fuji, it will be easy choice..

but no doubt, it is really nice camera Smile

Bold and black statement for a camera that is not yet even 24hrs old.
I'll wait for actual reviews and maybe a test drive before judging this Fuji.

FF = Full frame what? This sensor uses its "full frame" with native lenses.
If you shoot it with native lenses, who gives a damn about sensor dimentions if the iq is there.
35mm full frame is tiny compared to 6x9 full frame.
Too much is made of sensor size. It's the quality that counts.
This new fuji has some sensor innovation that will require careful review before deciding what one thinks they will compare it to.

the only people who care about FF are legacy glass users, not the general public, so obviously in one respect andy is correct, too much is made of sensor size.

BUT, this IS a legacy lens site, and for US, FF is a big deal not because of resolution, but because of being able to use our legacy glass as intended on these great cameras. its very discouraging to have a great 24 and be forced to get a 35 perspective...thats not why we bought the 24 in the first place. i dont want my 35 to be a 50, i hate 50s! my favorite FL is 40, so thats a 60 on apsc, what the heck good is that? not good at all for me, and others of us who just want our great glass used properly on these great cams!

if anyone could sympathize with this feeling, its gotta be the folks in the mf lens club, no?

I love this camera, and I love mirrorless systems with short reg. distance, but yes... I also dream of a ff mirrorless camera that fit my budget Very Happy

I think there's a lot of non-legacy users dreaming of a ff mirroless cam too, to be fair Smile I can't wait to see the low light performance of the next generation of ff cameras... Cool Idea

You are assuming that most users here are using legacy equipment on cameras with FF sensors. But that is not the case. Smile

Sample images

http://www.fujifilm.com/products/digital_cameras/x/fujifilm_x_pro1/sample_images/

Images are super, "super" clean at ISO 25,000 but very soft! Shocked just look at that "plastic" looking face. Perhaps is just my monitor is not sharp enough?

Ridiculously clean high ISO, but I don't like the "plastic" look! Is it just me or what do you think of the pre-production images?

DR looks super!!
