With a recent acquisition came some Canon FD gear, amongst which were these two Canon A1 bodies which only need a little work for them to be bought into use again.

1. £15
This is in very well used condition as you can see, but is in good working order, although the red self timer led is broken and it will need new seals and mirror bumper. There is also a small piece broken off the battery door, but the door still works.

2. £30
The second one is in much better shape, in fact in very good condition and working properly. It will need new seals and bumper however - there's a bit of the foam on the mirror. What brings it down though is what looks like some kind of oil on the black parts of the mirror box. Not sure what's going on there, but it doesn't seem to affect the way the camera works and the focus screen is clear....
It has a strap and an eye cup.

I also have a winder A and a very nice action case A that will take the camera fitted with a winder. I'll probably stick those on ebay, but you can have them for £45.

These are on ebay now... started at 99p so a bargain for someone maybe.

I've read up a bit about the A1 and its shutter squeak or squeal and have a feeling that the previous owner might have fixed it with more than just a dab of oil, which could explain the sheen in the mirror box. It's a shame because it looks like such a simple fix. Oh well.
Hopefully someone will be able to do something with these, they certainly take pictures...

A pity to have noticed it so late. (I hate to give money to eBay.)
Anyway I'm bidding for the first one, I love those lonely bodys that need some care to get back to life. Moreover, I haven't got any FD film body yet.
Regards.
Jes.
