I found this "faulty one".

Isn't that one of the fastest lens on the market?

PostPosted: Fri Jan 30, 2009 9:56 pm    Post subject: Reply with quote

Not the fastest lens, there is 0.95 and 1.0 lenses and all other maker also made 1.2 lenses.

Click here to see on Ebay

I meant, however, it's said this is one of the finest 1.2 lenses, right? (I cannot imagine how such a fastest lens like the 0.95 would perform...Thanks ofr the info Attila)

I think Minolta MD is one of the cheapest 1.2 lens I don't have personal experience with it.

Finest ones are not cheap at all Carl Zeiss , Leica, Voigtlander are finest and cost above 3000 USD.

I have experience with Nikkor, Pentax, Cosina from these Pentax is best one to me.

Minolta MC 58/1.2 is famous for its very nice perceived bokeh, however, it is not as sharp as a Pentax or some of the other f1.2 lenses.

BIN = $6xx is not cheap!
I can get one locally for approx $350 ~ 400, but it still think it is too much.

350-400 USD is Nikkor, Olympus , Pentax price.

I think Minolta lenses are cheaper all time due no DSLR for them.
I estimate 200-250 USD maximum for this lens market value.

That is wasn't too smart to convert , to buy a Nikkor would better deal.

You haven't been watching the 1.2's. The 58/1.2 has been fetching a huge premium (often selling for >$500) because of its reputation for great bokeh. The 85/1.7 isn't cheap either.

Aside from those two lenses, though, you're quite right. Nice glass cheap, which is why I'm so happy with my converted 20D.

I haven't seen one sell for <$300 that didn't have something wrong with it, though a sluggish aperture is no big deal if you're shooting on a DSLR.
