Dear all,
willing to buy a focusing helicoid, the question is as subject, in this sense: do I lose more in those 5mm extra of shortest side, or in those 5mm only of travel? I have macro tubes down to 11mm.

I'm not aimed at a specific lens, although one candidate is an old Kodak Vest Pocket Meniscus.

Thanks!

What camera is it to use with Enzo? You have to consider the register of the camera and the focal length of the lens.

For instance, if using an EOS, you have just under 45mm register, add in 12mm for the shorter helicoid and another 1mm or two for the M42 adapter and you have a minimum of 58mm, which sounds like it will be okay for lenses 75mm and longer. The 17-31 would give you a minimum of 63mm which also sounds like it would be okay, this helicoid covers a longer range so is probably the better option I think.

Apologies, I discovered this answer only now - disabled email notofication Sad.

In the meantime I bought the longer version - something lost on the short side, but more flexibility. Thanks Ian !

By the way I found an UK seller with almost chinese prices, if someone is interested: http://www.ebay.it/itm/290780919518
