Busy background and not close enough.

I understand why people like a wide aperture lens, but for close up or macro the shallow DOF is as thin as paper. Sop down a bit and the bokeh will improve too.

RTS III. I think the focus is right, from all I can tell, maybe the scanning (automatic, no manual intervention) is the culprit here.
